A dynamic pair, cellist Jesús Morales and pianist Karen Burgman have joined forces to perform on the artist roster of Pennsylvania's Performing Arts on Tour. Both soloists and chamber musicians in their respective fields, Morales and Burgman are uniquely suited in temperament and artistic ability to perform from the great repertoire for cello and piano.
Morales also serves as cellist for The Dali String Quartet, Cello Professor of the Elite Strings Program (Lansdale, PA), and co-principal cellist of the Black Pearl Chamber Orchestra. Centaur Records released Mr. Morales' CD of the Saint-Saens and the Lalo Cello Concertos to rave reviews; and will soon release his new CD of The Brahm's Cello Sonatas. He has a bachelors degree from The Cleveland Institute of Music and has done post-graduate work at The Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. He has studied with Dr.Ronald Crutcher, Alan Harris, Helga Winold, Yehuda Hanani, and chamber music Peter Oundjian.
Burgman has performed coast to coast in the US and in Canada and Europe, in venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Toronto Center for the Performing Arts, and she is the founding pianist of the touring Credo Trio. A graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory, she has won numerous prizes for her collaborative piano playing.
